The School of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering was formerly known as the Shipbuilding Department of Huazhong Institute of Technology, founded in 1959. It recruits undergraduate students in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering and Marine Engineering. The school enrolls more than 800 undergraduates and more than 200 full-time graduates at the moment. NA&OE is hosting a provincial key laboratory and aiming to build an innovative platform for naval architecture and ocean engineering that attracts and cultivats high-quality talents in high-tech fields such as marine structural design and manufacture, electromechanical and automation of ships and ocean engineering, and so on. NA&OE has now more than 53 faculties, among them there are 1 academician of Chinese Academy of Science, 2 Chutian Scholars and 1 Huazhong scholar.

The 21st century is the century of the ocean. The development and utilization of the ocean is advancing by leaps and bounds. We welcome the students interested in marine development and ship research to take part in NA&OE of HUST.
