On August 25-30, 2019, the first China Unmanned Navigation Vehicle Intelligent Sailing Project Open and International Challenge and Marine Robot Forum was held in Ningbo, China. WRSC (full name: World Robotics Sailing Championship, World Robotics Sailing Championship) has been held in Austria, Portugal, Canada, Germany and other countries. It is a derivative event of the unmanned transatlantic intelligent sailing challenge. It is the largest and most influential in the world. Intelligent unmanned sailing activities.

The event attracted more than 20 teams from 6 countries. The Marine Robot Innovation Team of the School of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering of Huazhong University of Science and Technology sent two teams – HUST 1 and HUST 2. Under the guidance of Yang Shaolong and Xiang Xianbo, the two teams carefully prepared for 4 months and independently developed a set of interactive and stable unmanned sailboat control system. The two teams tested more than 20 times in Yujiahu before the game, and started the three projects of triangle racing, virtual anchoring and obstacle avoidance, collaborative area search and hide-and-seek in the Yuehu Lake in Ningbo from August 26th to 29th. Fierce competition.

Among them, the collaborative area search project mainly investigates the ability of unmanned sailboats to cooperate and search the entire sea area. In this project, both HUST 1 and HUST 2 searched for nearly one-half of the area, achieving the second and fourth best results in each item.

Under the multi-day cooperation and unremitting efforts of our school, the HUST 1 and HUST 2 teams won the fourth and fifth prizes respectively in this competition and won the second prize of the competition.
